Cereal Killer Granola was founded in 2014 in response to the lack of health-conscious, fresh, and oat-free granola options available on the market. 

HANNAH RONSON 

Founder & CEO

As a chef and certified holistic nutritionist, I have been determined to make a grain free granola that is flavorful and nourishing with just the right amount of sweetness.


In college, I was diagnosed with Crohn's Disease. After years of taking ever stronger medications and not feeling better, I had to find another way.  As I educated myself about the link between diet and health, I began working as a cook at some of New York’s most innovative restaurants. My goal was to create foods that could help others heal. I headed to California to attend Bauman College to increase my knowledge of health-supportive foods and to become a certified holistic nutritionist. Eventually my health journey led me to the Specific Carbohydrate Diet (SCD). Eliminating grains and many forms of carbohydrates from my diet was what my body needed to heal from years of Crohn’s Disease and bacterial overgrowth. As I regained my health I was able to stop taking all traditional medications. I became convinced that I needed to find ways to adapt foods I loved to a grain free diet. I used to sell a beloved grainful granola (the original Cereal Killer), so I was determined to create a delicious grain free granola that could rival any oat-based one. The result -- Cereal Killer Granola.

I’ve always been a lover of delicious, good-for-you food, and as a consumer I’ve always found it difficult to find a granola I like. To be honest, most of the commercially available granola I’ve bought from stores has tasted like soggy sweetened cardboard, and are usually filled with unwanted ingredients like preservatives and added sugar. But from the moment Hannah gave me my first sample of Cereal Killer Granola I was hooked. Finally a granola that is nutritious AND tastes great. Ironically, my favorite way to enjoy this delicious grain free granola is in a bowl of my most favorite grain milk--oat milk. (Don’t tell Hannah.)  

 

After I began working on the design and logo for Cereal Killer Granola, Hannah and I decided to pair up and use our combined forces to bring the goodness of Cereal Killer Granola to the People!! When I’m not working, I love to draw, try different exercise classes and bake sourdough bread (again, don’t tell Hannah).
